    Welcome to the December issue of StrokeNet. This month we introduce a new contributor to StrokeNet. Dez Crawford is the assistant director of a municipal animal shelter. She has agreed to write a series of articles of advise for Stroke Survivors about pets. Thanks to Dez for providing readers with her expertise.

    Steve introduces new board and staff members. Joe Flasher writes about remedies for mild pain. Dez Crawford advises on how to obtain a pet. She also gives some helpful tips for pet owners. Penny Wohlford shares her experience using the Neuromove. BBC's Stroke Website is reviewed. Steve Sanchez and Violet Lawrence share their biographies.

    Dez is the assistant director at a fairly large municipal animal shelter. Her husband, Dave, had two ischemic strokes last year. In this article Dez shares some of her professional advise for obtaining a pet. She also gives some helpful tips for pet owners.

    Steve Sanchez had a stroke at 34. In his bio he shares the experience with other readers.

    Violet Lawrence stroked over 10 years ago, in September 1993. She shares her story and parts of her medical record.

    What is The Stroke Network? Where did it come from? Who are the people that work there? Read the FAQ if you would like to know.

    Just what is FAQ? I've seen it on the Internet several times but I've never understood what it stood for. What is FAQ and why does our organization have these letters? FAQ is an acronym for Frequently Asked Questions. It's basically questions that most people are going to ask if they want to know about your web site and service.

    Our organization has a FAQ in order to give you some background information and insight into our organization. The FAQ is linked from virtually every single page on our whole web site. If you scroll down the page and look on the left column you will see a button with a question mark. Click on the button and you will be hyperlinked to our FAQ web page.

    You will learn about the formation of our organization and it's history. You can find out who are our partners and learn about our basic policies. Most of the frequently asked questions can be found here but if you have more please let us know.
