Welcome to the November issue of StrokeNet. In North America fall has
arrived. Days are crisp, leaves are turning and we just finished the holiday
of Halloween where costumed children go door-to-door trick or treating and
receive treats from their neighbors.
As we get ready for even colder days, we celebrate in this newsletter.
Steve has had a busy month and writes about several items including the
establishment of a new message board. David Ray's Stroke Club had a birthday
party. Joe Flasher writes about Anticoagulant And Antiplatelet Agents Used
In Strokes. Read about Pets for Stroke Survivors and how they aid in
recovery. Jeanie Hiatt contributes a poem. The website review is of The
Cardiovascular Disease website of the America Heart Association. Bios are of
Jean Googenheimer and Dave Hinds. Have a good read.
Organization Highlights, by Steve Mallory
Steve reports that the golf tournament was successful insuring the
solvency of The Stroke Network for the year. He then discusses the Mentor
Award. Computer Therapy is being established at a Stroke Ward in Steve's
local area. Three computers have been donated to the hospital and a Computer
Therapy system is being setup. Most of our readers have had their own
experiences of computers helping with their recovery. This is a way to reach
more people with that possibility.
He writes about the new message board at the Stroke Network site. Be sure
to read about how to access it. He announces a new staff member. Finally he
announces a new email address for stroke caregivers.

Our
Organization |
 |
What is
The Stroke Network? Where did it come from? Who are the people that work
there? Read the FAQ if you would like to know.
Just what is FAQ? I've seen it on the Internet several times but I've
never understood what it stood for. What is FAQ and why does our
organization have these letters? FAQ is an acronym for Frequently Asked
Questions. It's basically questions that most people are going to ask if
they want to know about your web site and service.
Our organization has a FAQ in order to give you some background
information and insight into our organization. The FAQ is linked from
virtually every single page on our whole web site. If you scroll down
the page and look on the left column you will see a button with a
question mark. Click on the button and you will be hyperlinked to our
FAQ web page.
You will learn about the formation of our organization and it's
history. You can find out who are our partners and learn about our basic
policies. Most of the frequently asked questions can be found here but
if you have more please let us know.
