June 2007

Dear smallory,

StrokeNet is pleased to introduce four new writers. Debbie Batjer and Chuck Hofvander, who are both survivors, are contributors. They are blazing a new trail for StrokeNet. Each will write articles which cover a particular area of stroke recovery.

This month Debbie shares her experience of learning to swallow again. Chuck writes about an ER visit for a seizure where the doctor who had treated him for a full blown stroke treats Chuck again.

Survivor Lin Mouat is a new columnist. Her column entitled, "Fuel for the Journey" will focus on the many activities that help on the recovery journey.

Nancy Fiduk, who is a caregiver for her 14 year old daughter Michele is our new Celebrations Monitor. She compiles and edits the Celebrations article.

Marty Arlen and Jean Guggenheimer continue to contribute monthly columns.

We welcome the four new members of the team and are grateful that Marty and Jean continue to write columns.

Also find in this issue the foreward to Jeannette Solomon's new book. Her first book was reviewed in StrokeNet April 2007.

Have a good read.
