    March brings a lot of interesting news on the stroke front. Steve Mallory reports on Stroke Network news. "The Comfort of Home for Stroke" is reviewed by Lin Wisman.     Organization Highlights, By Steve Mallory

    Steve begins his report by relating info about the Arizona "Members Meeting Members" get together in February. They are already planning a second meeting. He then explains that the Members Map has been moved. Look here to see where other members live.

    Dysphagia, a stroke caused disability that prevents swallowing, will be topic of discussion in the chat room March 1. The affiliate program now has almost two dozen members. Check out some of these websites for more stroke informations.

    The Stroke Network has been selected to be included in Dorland's Healthcare health related guide to the best web sites on the Internet.

    "The Comfort of Home for Stroke" by Maria M Meyer and Paula Derr, RN with Jon Caswell, Stroke Connection Magazine is reviewed. This book is a resource for caregivers. New caregivers will find this book of particular interest.

    Stroke Newsfeed, By Jean Guggenheimer
    Jean reviews articles from stroke news last month. Read about how hair salons may help spread stroke information. Other articles feature how ADHD drugs and living in poor neighborhoods increase stroke risk.

    Next Jean features an article stating that African-American children have a much greater stroke risk than those of other ethnic groups. Finally she reviews an article on how religious beliefs speed stroke recovery.

    The Stroke Network congratulations all members who have a birthday this month and who celebrate their stroke anniversary. Click below to see the list.

    Each month a list of members who have added their birthday to their profile is listed in this newsletter. Each day birthdays are listed on the Message Board.

    To be sure your birthday is included add the date to your profile. From the home page of the Message Board, select Member Links, My Controls, On the left hand side of the screen look for the category 'Personal Profile. Select 'Edit Profile.'

    If you would like your anniversary listed, please send your username and the complete date of your stroke, month day and year, to the editor.

    Our Organization
    What is The Stroke Network? Where did it come from? Who are the people that work there? Read the FAQ if you would like to know.

    Just what is FAQ? I've seen it on the Internet several times but I've never understood what it stood for. What is FAQ and why does our organization have these letters? FAQ is an acronym for Frequently Asked Questions. It's basically questions that most people are going to ask if they want to know about your web site and service.

    Our organization has a FAQ in order to give you some background information and insight into our organization. The FAQ is linked from virtually every single page on our whole web site. If you scroll down the page and look on the left column you will see a button with a question mark. Click on the button and you will be hyperlinked to our FAQ web page.

    You will learn about the formation of our organization and it's history. You can find out who are our partners and learn about our basic policies. Most of the frequently asked questions can be found here but if you have more please let us know. Contents of this newsletter may not be reprinted without the organization's permission.
