 February 2008
Greetings,

Welcome to the Annual Reader Creative Writings Issue of StrokeNet. Each year newsletter readers are invited to submit creative writings for the February issue. A big thanks to everyone who took the time and effort to submit. Submitting is not an easy task for many. But, it is great therapy!

One submitter sent her submission three times. All the emails were returned. The fourth made it. Two others sent their submissions to Steve who forwarded  to me. The tenaciousness of our readers demonstrates one key element to stroke recovery. Just keep working at it!

We begin and end this newsletter with two regular features, Organization Highlights and the Celebration List. In between are the Creative Writings.

Fourteen submissions were selected for publication. I have divided them into five categories.

·   Reflection on Stroke
·   Life After Stroke
·   Honoring Relatives
·   Pets are Therapeutic
·   The Future is Open

A number of people submitted their stroke stories. The appropriate place for stroke stories is in the Members Bio section of The Gallery, which can be accessed from the Message Board.

Each month, new bios are featured in this newsletter. The only rules are to include you first and last name in the caption, include a photo of yourself and write 200 - 1000 words. Let me know if you need assistance.

Enjoy the February newsletter!
