Greetings,
The holiday season is upon us. As I finish up
this November 1 newsletter the Halloween trick or treaters
are at our front door.
Stroke survivors often struggle with fitness.
It is clear that diet and exercise are critical to the quality of life
each of us maintains. There are two articles in this issue which
address the fitness problem. In the first, "Fitness after Stroke,"
Walt Kilcullen suggests ways to create a
program, which works for you.
In "Physical Movement Therapy
Device," Steve Mallory introduces a machine he has found helpful
with limited mobility. No matter what your situation, try to find a way
to keep yourself moving. This will improve your overall health.
If you have ever wondered why some are better
than others at stroke rehab, be sure to read "Resilience and
Stroke Rehabilitation" by David Wasielewski.
Claudia Warner created a notebook of important information to share
with her family. Check out her suggestions.
There are two articles which give info which
you may find interesting. Dean Reinke in
"Stroke News" directs readers to two articles on cholesterol
and stroke. David Wasielewski directs readers
to two web videos about the brain in "Brain Videos."
Lyndall Maxwell is featured in
Member Stories. Organization Highlights updates on what is happening in
our organization. At the end be sure to check to see who has included
birthday and stroke anniversary data in their profile.
Enjoy the November newsletter!
