Dear Steve,
Recovery following stroke is seldom an even
ride. The survivor improves with lots of hard work and often there are
times when no advancement seems to be happening. The good news is that
are many alternatives to add to the tool kit.
In this newsletter we introduce you to ideas to
explore. Not everything works for every individual. Never quit trying.
Improvements can happen years after the stroke.
To see a list of articles, which have been
published in this newsletter, check out
Classic Articles. Visit the Message
Board
regularly for ideas. Search for a topic and/or post a question.
To post on the Message Board, you must be
logged in. If you do not remember your userid,
look at the top of this newsletter. It says Dear... The name entered
should be your userid. If you are still
having problems contact Kim Anderson,
Membership Administrator.
The Feldenkrais
Method can help with mobility. Be sure to check Walt's article to learn
more. David Reflects on the survivor recreating their social life. In
"Speak No Evil," J.J. reports he is completing his two years
at culinary school. He is thinking about what it means to reenter the
workforce.
In "The Juggling Caregiver," Claudia
shares her summer projects. In "Dancing with Stroke," Jim
shares his struggle with consciousness following his stroke.
A new feature, Staff Spotlight, begins this
month. Ann Rogers, Personnel Director, is spotlighted.
Be sure to check out organization news in
Organization Highlights and Member Celebrations to see who has
registered their birthday or stroke anniversary.
Enjoy the July newsletter!
